Like you, haven't been there in quite awhile.

Sam's Town is non-smoking now I believe.

They were the last of the smoking-rooms in Tunica but finally got with the times and went to non-smoking maybe a year ot two ago if I'm remembering the rumor correctly.

They offer a bunch of low buy-in, high-juice type tourneys during the week that completely do not interest me.
$35+$15 or something like that seems pretty typical from the ads I've seen.

I'm guessing the $125 is better juice-percentage-wise.

Being the dedicated best friend that I am, I am taking my buddy to Tunica next month for his wedding present. We live in the Cincinnati area and thought it might be a good time to check it out.

Anyway, wondering if you guys could share with me some advise on what the best casinos are, where the best rooms are, best value, what to stay away from, what to check out...I'm not having much luck finding good solid info on the net for some reason.

Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated...

They have mosquitos in Tunica this time of year, which will sever your arm.

I plan on being there 7/10-7/11. Is there any listing online of any tourneys they will have down there during those two days?

I don't think there's a tourney on the 10th at all....besides Gold Strikes 11am 40 entry rebuy/addon tourney.

On the 11th I think almost every casino has one. i'm going back down tomorrow and I'll try and check.

McCoy, I got a comp flyer in the mail the other day with a poker tourney schedule at Gold Strike. It doesnt have specific dates, only a weekly schedule. I've never played in any tourneys down there but a friend has and said that they arent too bad of a structure. Its been a while since he told me but I wanna say it was ~3000 chips, 20 or 30 min levels, blinds starting at 25/50, and cant remember how much juice they take out. Im sure someone on the forum can confirm more details.

Anyway, 7/10-11 is a Tues-Wed, this is what the flyer shows:

Tues
11am Early Bird No Limit $40buy in
6pm No Limit Freeze Out $50buy in

Wed
4am Red EyeNo Limit $ 65 buyin
11am No Limit Freeze Out $60buy in

These are all of the details it has, see poker room for complete details.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Matt
