Golf gadgets that WORK
We've all bought some golf gadget that's "sure to drop 5 strokes off your game". Most are junk. I'd like to hear what gadgets some of you have bought and can actually attribute success to?
Only thing I've ever bought that's actually helped was a weighted club. It's basically just like the Momentus except that it's about 1/3 the price and it's orange. You can get them at WalMart or the blue version I have seen at Fleet Farm. It's really just a good warm up aid and it does help to slow you down before a round. I'd like to try the medicus but have never gotten my hands on one of them. There are tons of them out there so I'd like to hear if any others actually work. |

Re: Golf gadgets that WORK
I picked up the momentus from my dad's garage, and can honestly say it has helped my game tremendously. I didn't realize how screwed up my swing plane was until I used it, and now that plane is second nature.

A buddy of mine was a 30 handicap 2 years ago. He got the Medicus, swung it for about an hour a week.
Now he's shooting in the 80's with a beautiful swing. |

Re: Golf gadgets that WORK
momentus is good at helping you loosen up before a round and to help correct swing plane. Medicus is ridiculous. it is extremely hard to work it right and i have to take my backswing way too slow to keep it from collapsing. There are some goggles to aid in lining up putts and all that stuff that i personally do not own but have used it several times that actually helps. I dont recall the name of it though as it has been some time since ive used it.

Re: Golf gadgets that WORK
I purchased the laser that screws into the butt end of the grip. This is a good tool for practicing taking the club back on parallel (you need to draw or have a 8 to 12 yard target line on the ground).

[/ QUOTE ] No, your backswing is too fast, especially the first part. Medicus is great for teaching you a smooth on plane takeaway, backswing and swing. Tiger has incredible club head speed through the shot, but look at the first few feet or so of his backswing. It's actually pretty slow and very one-piece. |
