For me this is read based but cold I'm probably folding. I don't see enough limp-raises in 4/180s to think he doesn't have JJ+ or AK like the rest of them. Sure it's a shot to your stack but your still dangerous and there is always better spots in these things.

You're prob looking at a middle pair or something like that here. The limp was likely trying to induce you to bluff at the pot. What other reason could there be to make such a drastic move preflop? A big shove like that from button is not indicative of QQ+. You might be against AK, a mid pair or *maybe* JJ.
If you're willing to flip for a big stack, then call. If not, then fold. |

This sort of behavior is bizzare, but really not that uncommon in 180s. I can pretty much guarantee it's at least some kind of pair. They're either getting tricky with AA/KK or they don't want to have to call and play a flop with a mid-to-small pair. Having said that, I think it's a fold.

By the way, people limping with mid pairs and pushing when they get raised is really commmon in low stakes MTTs in the late stages. The psychology behind it is that they want to play their pair, but they're totally uncomfortable raising and and playing a big pot. They get raised and they can't justify folding it because, hey it's a pair, so they do the most uncomplicated thing they can think of and push it in... because they're always coinflips right?
This is also a situation where you can just check with AK. You keep the pot small against another similar sized stack when you're OOP. Raising it is fine, but situations like these are why you can certainly be reasonable with checking. It disguises your hand a bit for a check-raise and a lot of times you can get a cheap showdown because they're in the same mode and trying to play a smaller pot as well (hence the limp in the best possible position). |
