Calling on birthday is too far. You just met, you have a date. If she likes you things will progress on the date anyway.

Some girls would be put off by a birthday thing. Others might like it. But you have a date, and she could easily be in the first category. Be cool.

I actually think flowers would be pretty good. One of two things will happen. She'll either be put off, maybe even tell all her girlfriends how she's gonna use you for all kinds of [censored]. Or she's absolutely going to love it. Won't be hard to tell when you guys go to dinner, and you can play it there cool. I know you'd never send flowers this early on with a chick, but there's something about birthdays that makes you win serious point.

I don't know why your arguing with a CHICK on this point, I think she's more likely to know than you or me.

Flowers before a date even happens is creepy and desperate-seeming. One of two things will happen, neither good: either she's a normal-ish chick who is going to be freaked out by the gesture and kill his chances, or she's a clingy insecure broad who is going to get a huge psycho creamy crotch over it, and that's just a slippery slope to her boiling bunnies in your kitchen. Neither of these results is good.
