I highly disagree that a big overpair is "da nutz" with 100bb stacks. I think it is "da nutz" in a tournament with 30bb stacks but not deep stack by any means (100bb+). If you find yourself getting a 100bb stack all in often with just 1 pair against a non maniac, you will be broke soon enough.

Is it pretty standard to raise the flop here?

#1 you have position
#2 only one overcard can come
#3 you only have 1 pair so why build a huge pot

[/ QUOTE ]

Like others here, I think flop raise is standard. He could donk here with 77 for example and you can't give any freecards. I raise this flop as well and fold his turn raise.

Yeah, he COULD be doing this with 77 with oesd or 88 with the gutshot or be on a stone bluff /w mediocre hand, but I don't think your ahead enough of the time here to call. Unless I have seen him do crazy stuff before.

Sometimes otherwise normal opponents do bluff huge in a big pot. And they can take it down because of their image. But my advice is fold to relative unknown. (on turn)

Checking the turn is bad. Bet-folding to this heat is the play.

umm. do you really expect him to be check calling this turn?

hes either folding(not likely) or shoving.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would you like to ellaborate? His vpip is >40 so i really like a b/f here.

this is a sick spot, but i dont see how much more information you need to fold an overpair. the board is about as gross as it can get. i think youd have to have some type of read on this player that he is capable of doing this w/ air in order to call him down, and youd need a really strong read to do that. basically cuz the only drawing hands are like 67 57 43 53 63 etc ... and those are probably like 5% or less of villains range. everything else is made, and he HAS to put you on an overpair based on your line.

Never folding KK HU unless an A hits the flop is at worst a small leak. Especially against a guy with 48 VP$IP.

edit: 100BB deep
