Default Foxwoods $1-2 no limit hand

I talked about this with a friend of mine and he said I made the wrong play. I haven't played no limit for years, just limit, stud, and omaha eight or better.

Ok... so the guy to my right raises to $12 total, I reraise $25 over his raise to $37 total with two queens. A couple guys fold and the table big stack reraises to $75 total. Everyone folds to me, including the original raiser. I decided to lay it down figuring that facing a raise and a reraise, the guy must have either two kings or two aces. That's the only time I've ever layed two queens down. I didn't think he would do that with tens, jacks, nines, Ace-king, Ace-queen, or anything but a pair of kings or better. My friend says people often rereraise with Ace-Queen, Ace-Jack, Ace-King, jacks, tens, etc. Did I make a terrible play?

how deep are you, table conditions, etc.

This depends so much on position, stacksizes and reads.
