Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
Thought this may spur some thoughts. Obviously betting the turn is pretty standard to protect against the draws, but I'm way ahead of his likely holdings that I figured it's probably most +ev to try to induce a bluff. I figured if he had AK/AA he's pushing the flop.

Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
The problem is that he's going to check a king behind here most of the time.

good so far, cr turn, but never c/r river. Bet the river like 200. Maybe less. NH

Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
Its fine, just mix it up, he can easily have KK, AA here.
Hes not going to bluff though, hes definitely checking behind mid pairs. |

Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
I was villain here and kinda wanted to post this hand from my perspective, but then I'm a lurker and don't start threads .
I think mixing in a turn check here is good every once in a while to keep me off balance. The only hand you're missing two streets of value from is AKo, which is a decent portion of my range (Coming over from limit recently still haven't figured out how to fold TPTK). If I still haven't raised AA+ I'll likely be putting it in myself somehow. Now on to my decision: I also had what I thought was a pretty tough flop/turn decision with J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] after my somewhat speculative PF call. Any unbiased thoughts on my flop play and what my turn action should be in this spot with a now even bigger draw? FWIW my read on villain is 21/17 and he is capable of 3betting me light in this situation. |

Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
interesting spot.
with the 2 queens i would keep betting the turn...if you checkraise the turn he folds almost everything that you want in there...plus you can slowly make him commit to your river shove... if i had J10ss i def. check behind after 'thinking' about it cos u dont want to get blown off your draw if he is goin for the CR (becoming more and more standard imo)...if you miss on the riv and he checks to you make what looks like a value bet to try to take it from him, if you hit and he leads into you you got him. |

Re: 400nl: mid set turn spot
On this board I would prefer betting again because AK is going to have a hard time folding.
