[ QUOTE ] Yeah, regardless of this story, anyone who gets on Chad Brown's ass is an idiot. I've never let anyone talk down to my girlfriend, and anyone who respects theirs wouldn't either. [/ QUOTE ] So if someone tells you your girlfriend played a hand badly you try to fight them. reason #223897 why human beings are total retards. [/ QUOTE ] If any girl I'm close to(could be girlfriend, wife, mom, sister, friend, etc.) comes to me and tells me that a male has been abusive verbally(or physically) to them, I would ask them if they wanted me to do something about it. If they said "yes" then I would most definitely confront that person. I wouldn't try to fight them though unless I felt as if they were then disrespectful to me when I confronted them. I really don't see anything wrong with that. And if I asked the guy if what my gf said was true and he confirmed it, and then he totally refused to apologize or make things better, that might make me want to fight him. |

Calling the clock on somebody when you're not in the hand is doucheville. [/ QUOTE ] Seriously? I've never done it, but I've seen it done a ton of times. Especially at tables where you pay time instead of rake, I think its actually quite standard. Moreover, if I were a shortstack and the blinds might go up before my next BB if someone takes too long, I would definitely do it. |

^^^^ grow the [censored] up. [/ QUOTE ] So if your mom, sister, girlfriend comes to you and swears that some guy totally out of the blue started vebally assualting them, you'd do nothing? I havn't been in a fight since middle school, so I"m not an overaggressive guy. But I'll stick up for the females in my life whom I love. And I trust all of them that they would be telling me the truth about the situation. |

[ QUOTE ] And I trust all of them that they would be telling me the truth about the situation. [/ QUOTE ] By far your biggest mistake. [/ QUOTE ] I can't imagine my mom or sister lying to me about this, and if I didn't think a girl was trustworthy then she wouldn't be my girlfriend. I definitely don't understand any outrage at my comments or why I need to "grow up." |

Re: Can anyone fill us in on Vanessa Rousso altercation?
When you grow up you'll learn that you can't really govern other people's behavior. Once the threat is past, there really isn't anything you can or should do. You need to allow the women in your life to deal with these situations by themselves for the most part. Responding with violence or the threat of violence isn't an adult thing to do. Again, especialy after the threat is gone. Going around confronting strangers just isn't wise. The consequences are many and varied and that they are strangers makes it difficult to fully estimate the consequences. Standing up for your female companion if your are there when it happens is often correct, however. This is largely because you having a much firmer grasp of the situation and more importantly, the nature of the guy you're going to be confronting.
Growing up means learning which impulses to act on. The very natural impulse of wanting to confront to protect your woman's honor is often dangerous, with varied consequences and not much upside. Your sentence "and then if he were disrespectufl to me, I might fight him" is especially juvenile. Can you see that? |
