Ok. Thats a fair point and thats what I did. When he called i wanted to puke

Is this the first time you've 3-bet him light and c-bet the flop with air? How do you have 14k hands on the guy? It makes a big difference if this is datamined vs. you've played 14k hands with him.

The 14k hands are datamined. I haven't played much with him and I have no notes other than those in OP. I haven't 3-bet him light before but I have been raising alot and c-betting a lot. I have also folded to flop raises and floats as well.

I didn't really like any of my options. If I check I am pretty certain he is betting, regardless of his hand. If I bet then he could fold if he has nothing but I am not sure he is calling my PF 3-bet then my c-bet with air and there weren't any draws on the flop.

I just didn't like the spot at all and was a bit lost.

Bet $42.

[/ QUOTE ]

Am I not then commiting myself to this pot with nothing but a gutshot?
What do I do if he shoves?
What do I do on the river if he flat calls?

If he raises me I'd fold, if he calls I'd c/f river. I might just open shove turn to maximize FE.

You realize he would only have 35 left after betting 42 right?

OP: Because it's FTP, I think the right play here is to insta-pot it (obv. call a shove getting 9:1). If I were villain and you do this, I would put you on AK a lot of the time and fold most of my range. Depending on your image though shoving might actually have more fold equity, and checking isn't bad either. This is a spot where I think most options are close, so in the long run it doesn't matter much what you do.

This is a good turn card for a shove. I like the insta-pot and obviously being committed for whatever little you've got left.

The turn K improves your range so I'd say its a decent card to bluff at. Probably just shove since I'd shove AA/KK/AK/JJ here.
