the guys flop AF is 12, i think he bets most Jx's on the flop which is why i dont think i can fold, but wont he check 2pairs and and smaller sets behind a lot?

i obviously do it, but doing it 100% with premium hands decreases your fold equity when you flatcall a 3bet and try to semi-bluff the flop, if you believe in that balancing crap.
