Not a very good article but it's a start. A couple of points from the thread so far:

1) Appalling ignorance about American social history on display.

2) Yesterday was the 43rd anniversary of the Chaney, Goodman and Schwerner murders in Mississippi. Two Jewish New Yorkers and a black Mississippian were murdered by local Klansmen for spending the summer helping poor black Mississippians register to vote. 1964 was 101 years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is civil right flashpoint worth remembering when reflecting on the history of relations between Jews and Blacks in America. Crappy movie "Mississippi Burning" turned this story into "how one white racist FBI agent overcame his biases to serve justice".

3) Biggest wave of Jewish immigration was NOT in response to Nazis but in response to pogroms in Russian and Eastern European. The holocaust is the mother of all pogroms which is the murdering and suppressing jews by mob-assisted authorities.

4) Jews' success in America relative to Blacks may be due to their longer history of dealing with racial/ethnic hatreds directed at them. Black Americans < 200 years since end of slavery; Jews > 3000 years of coping with persecution.

I feel anger over the begginings of slavery in Africa and Asia.

I feel their exploitation of the weaker societal groups initiated a cataclysmic desire for capitalist style values which have shaped todays competitive individualistic and dare i say maladaptive societys.

So do i get reparations? Should we discuss the implications of that time?

This is obviously overly hyperbolic but the point made is valid.

It seems to me the only ppl who fervently campaign against the view that we are nearly equally treated are the people who live a life unnaffected by AA and poor economic backgrounds etc.
