Thx for help [/ QUOTE ] There is more to going pro than just being a wining player. I play live for profit andonline for fun. It's a job, plain and simple. You have to be able and willing to put the hours in. Also, there is that little matter of variance. You have to be able to deal with it - and it ain't easy! |

Re: Becoming a pro
500NL is 10 times harder online than a live 500NL table...

Re: Becoming a pro
Being pro never affected my winrate, but it did affect the fun I had. It just changes the mentality of it all. I am much more concerned/upset with losing sessions and winning sessions just feel like a relief.
It's straight up work. Pays well for the hours I put in, but unsatisfying emotionally. |

Re: Becoming a pro
Don't become a professional (yet). Get a good education first an then you might consider to become a pro. A lot of pros say that poker is not very fullfilling and Mortensen for example will study again even though he has enough money.

Re: Becoming a pro
u need a lot of money in assets that generate income for u if you would get into a downswing or sth.
And u have to take it like a normal job and maybe u will be playing 9 hours sitting the whole day in front of your computer. |
