qqq rolled up vs. pfr raiser w 2aces showing
I'm brand new at this.
Had rolled up trips about 3 hands prior and played them fast preflop when there were 2 raises in front of me. This time a player showing an ace raises it and I decide to play a bit slower. Villian raiser's next card another ace. Do I play my QQQ still here or just let it go? (one other player showed an ace preflop). |

Re: qqq rolled up vs. pfr raiser w 2aces showing
Don't fold.
You are generally ahead more than half the time here, so calling down is profitable. Raising at some point is dependent on your read of the player, but still probably right. |

Re: qqq rolled up vs. pfr raiser w 2aces showing
The player may have had 3 broadway cards, 3 cards to flush or Ace and a good pair like jacks or kings. Since we know that one ace is dead, we should proceed with villian having no better than two pair.

Re: qqq rolled up vs. pfr raiser w 2aces showing
People are more inclined to raise with an Ace door card than any other. Especially with another Ace out, I'm staying in, probably until the river, especially if this is stud/8.

Re: qqq rolled up vs. pfr raiser w 2aces showing
It depends on how likely he is to have aces when he raises with an ace doorcard. Some players overplay a lot of hands when they have an ace showing, others almost always have aces.
If he's in a steal position, be more inclined to call down; if he is conservative and raised in an early position be more inclined to fold, and so forth. |
