I led the flop expecting to get called (or raised). But facing 3 callers, I started to wonder if I was outkicked and should slow down. Was I correct to slow down or did I just play this hand like a schmuck?

i would usually lead turn for like 15 or 16 and value bet river unless I was raised on the turn. As played I probably raise river unless you have a read that this donk bet means he's super strong. To me it looks like 66 77 type of hands

I'd probably lead the river if you're just calling that weak ass turn bet which I'd also like to raise

I think your line wasnt horrible, but I agree with shpanko. Reads would help alot.

Is that what you're saying? What could 3 callers be calling me with on a drawless board if I'm not outkicked though? Are there that many 4's or middle pairs that these guys could have or am I being slowplayed? |

Sparta, you are right that youre beat often after the flop. Overpairs would have raised pre, a pair of 4s wouldnt overcall etc. But after the weak turnbet and the fold i think youre ahead here alot. Since there are no missed draws villain is definatly not bluffing the river.
So unless your planning to c/f which i believe is a little to weak after his turnplay, you will have to lead out. Thats the only way to get value from hands youre ahead of since they will just check behind otherwise. I would bet small here something like half pot. Im generally against c/c turn and lead river because its really exploitable, its almost always a b/f(if you the river didnt give you a monster). And your lead will def look like a blocker. But the $5 bet inclines he is nowhere near the handreading skills it takes to turn a small pair into a bluff here. |

I think I didn't lead the river because I was thinking that betting could easily make the pot big enough for him to re-raise me most of my chips and with the probablity that he might have been slow-playing trips I wanted to try to control the size of the pot. But I think you're right that with his small turn bet, I need to make sure I get some value on the river. |
