you know, jamie gold probably had to run many times hotter than this to win that bracelet.

One hand, double up against some "pro" who's never seen me before, and BAM!

And then tell them "I have to go to school tomorrow sorry"

You have to double up 17 times to do this.

If you go all in 17 times with 55% equity you have 1 in 30000 chance to do this.

However if you run super hot and get aces every hand (85% equity against random hand) you have 1 in 16 shot to do this.

So all you have to do is run hot (hint: play on nonrigged site) and 100K is yours. GOGOGOGOGOGOGOGO

The math speaks for itself.

2 ^ 17 = $131000

How many times can I POSSIBLY lose before this whole endeavour becomes -EV?

The reason it doesn't work at roulette or baccarat is because the house has a guaranteed edge with every try. If I only push with hands that are +EV against any random hand in a HU situation:

It's a lock -- Confidence is HIGH

It's only 13 levels. If at any point I fail, I can just start again for another $1. Honestly, I don't know why more people don't do this on a regular basis.

[/ QUOTE ]Because its wayyyyyy too frustrating. Unless you have the patience of Job and the discipline of a monk, it won't work. Believe me, I have bought in to every get-rich-quick scheme under the sun; I mean what poker player HASN'T tried something like this? Now, how many of them are rich and retired today? Having said all of that, I earnestly wish you the best and will actively follow your pursuit.

Definitely a +EV decision here. As a hypothetical, would you actually be willing to go for one more flip once you've gotten to 50k, or would you decide not to press your luck? (hint: don't be a pussy).

Noone will be forcing me to go in on a coin flip... it's not a tourney. I can shove when I know I've got at least 70% equity against any random HU hand. And if that gets cracked, it's just another dollar
