Also
MASK. The best of the toys that drove saturday cartoons imo. Reading an X-Men comic and actually liking Chris Claremont's writing! The unmitigated gullyness of Stormshadow and Snakes Eyes. That that one awesome issue where they fought.

Remember those super-cheap army soldiers that came practically by the pound? Holy crap they couldn't even stand up half the time, there was a little bulb of plastic sticking out of the bottom. Some were half-formed. And those x-ray glasses? Even as a kid I knew there's no way I could see through clothes to the boobies beneath. The sea monkeys were definitely at the top of the advertising douchebag hierachy. The ads to sell seeds weren't too good either -- you had to sell a billion of them to get anything out of it.
