If you bet the river, you don't really want a call here, as it's likely only better hands will call you. Villain's play looks a bit like he's drawing to me, and the FD got there on the river. What's your plan if he shoves over your 500 bet? Folding costs you half your stack, calling puts your whole stack in there with top pair. If you're ahead, you're already getting good value for your hand. I just check behind.

Not vbetting this river is really bad. People are massive callboxes and nobody ever c/rs the river.

I'm in the non-cbet camp. It would be a rare instance to c-bet this flop. I like a small t350-t400 bet on the river. That could easily get a pp to call.

If i CB the flop, i would CB much smaller, and if i VB the river i VB smaller. If you bet 500 on the river you pretty much have to pay off a CR-AI, which i dont really want to do.
If you CB less on the flop, the pot is less bloated on the river, you can make and even smaller VB on the river. -mike |

[/ QUOTE ] Pudge I am not with you this time: Dude flat called us on the flop, if he had an overpair he would have raised us, he checked the Q as we did and he checked Ac with a possible flush. Now: what range aare u putting him to play this way to the river? What are we beating here that might actually call us? We are beating AJ, A10, A9, any other hand at this point will fold otherwise we are beaten. Since I would not mind checking showing AK and actually see what this guy played with I am very happy to check. |
