Stay or Go
I read an article recently about mental strength being key to being a consistent winning player. Call it a superstition but if your not confident in your hand holding up then it doesnt if your feeling confident things generally work out ok. So this got me thinking this is my 8th day trying to grind online seriously playing 4 or 5 or more hours a day. Today i was playing for an hour felt i was playing good but no matter what i hit someone had something better im a pretty tight agressive player and i was down 4 or 5 buyins in an hour. All i wanted to do was go becasue i had no confidence in the situaton changing and felt even i got a big hand i was going to play it scared and not maximise the value from it. At this point in my mind i felt as if i was never going to get a good run of cards but seems im on this schedule of trying to play seriously online i wasnt sure whether i should be staying playing while i have little confidence in my hands or should i go take a break come back in an hour or so. What when you go back and things stay the same should you stop playing again or try play through it. I would just like some general feedback or advise from players who play alot of hours online and what they do in these situations.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not a multi-tabler but I think everyone can pretty much agree that playing scared is playing sub-optimally. No sense playing if you aren't able to play your best. Better imo to take a break and return when your head is back in the right place again.

You call it lack of confidence, I call it tilt.
If you're not on your A game, step away from the tables. Go back when your confidence returns. It might help to find a routine that put you back in the right mindset. It might be poker related, or not. Try different things.
