I figure I'm behind right now, but am fairly sure a spade gives me the best hand. Not worth it? Push?

villian is pot commited so hes not going to fold. now you gotta decide whether you wanna gamble on a draw. The min raise by the villian is worrisome, seem like he wants you to shove over the top

You're getting the pot odds to call if you want to chase, although no one seems particularly high on such things in these SNGs from what I've seen.

But you certainly have the stack for it, if ever there was a time to take the pot odds. I would call.

Groovy, thanks. I called. No help on turn, but we got the chips in anyway. He had a baby flush, I didn't improve.

A call here is horrible especially if u intend calling the turn shove. Villian might not give you the rest of his stack when you catch the spade on the turn.

Shove this spot it close but in general you have enough equity to make this +$EV even if villian is calling you 100% and you are behind.

I don't see how a call is horrible. 9 spades out, 2 queens =~ 3.3 to 1. It's what 250 to call into a 1090 pot for 4.36 to 1 pot odds?

Regardless of whether or not villain gives you his stack if a spade drops, it's +$EV to make a call, and abandon ship without a spade. Now, after the hand we see he did not have 9 spade outs and that queens were not outs, but as played, calling is not "horrible." He has a very sizeable stack to make a 250 call to try and catch the spade and it is +$EV.

I said the call is horrible if you intend calling villians shove when you miss the turn as OP did.

Actually, you included the word "especially," which would indicate that it's a bad play all-around, and then especially bad if you ... yada yada.

Not trying to nitpick, but you altered your quote by removing a word that is the reason I posted.

I think you should probably just fold it and maintain your big chip stack.

That chip stack has alot of fold equity in it.
