Re: Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza II
Played it today and agree with all the others who say it is a nice room, well run, sweet structure, etc. My only complaint is that depending on where you might not be able to see one of the TVs with the blind clock, tournament status, etc. I was in the salon area and the only visible clock was directly behind me. An area they're using outside of the poker room door leading to the casino appeared to have the same issue.
Also someone who was brought into my table at the end of the 2nd level complained that they'd hadn't explained to him that he'd be starting with as short a stack as he did. I'm not sure of the details, but if you're going to enter as an alternate you might want to make sure you're okay with whatever they do (and what that is is clear). They seated somewhere around 140-150 alternates today. I got there about an hour before it started and made the initial field (either 460, what the tournament status seemed to indicate, or 480, what dealers and other poker room personel were saying). My only significant complaint is getting knocked out after getting AIPF when the other guy hit his 3 outer (the first of 2 such tournament endings today). I'm planning on playing it again tomorrow. Say hi to the short grey-haired guy in the black baseball cap if you see me. |

Re: Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza II
Thanks for the tip about signing up early -- I'll sign up tonight after I land.
Anyone know if sats run pretty often? Was gonna buy in directly but figured I'd play a sat to get acclimated and maybe cut my costs (or increase them by $130...doh). Thanks. I'll be wearing a red or black #7 football jersey. See everyone there. |

Getting in late tonight as well. Will probably end up at Caesars tomorrow at noon but if you see a guy with a Khaki ball cap that say's "Maryville Mafia Poker Team." That's me.

Players were talking at my table about it when we got into the money, and I was basically like "Well, you better knock me out then because there's no F-ing way I'm chopping" First was $85k on Sat not sure what it was Friday, but I got 17th for only $1925 so I guess I should've chopped (or just not run incredibly bad the past 5 hours) |
