why are CEVs not just imagination?

humans tend to have some control over their imagination, CEVs are more like a dream whenever u close ur eyes, but u are conscious and have 0 control over them. CEVs are very different from ur "basic" imagination and usually come from low level hallucinogens or high doses of milder drugs.
