Why are the rules like this?
PokerStars 15/30 Hold'em (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero raises, Button 3-bets, SB caps, 1 fold, Hero calls, Button calls. Flop: (13 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets $14 (All-In), Hero raises $1 to $15, Button calls. Turn: (7.96 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players, 1 all-in) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, Button calls. River: (13.96 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players, 1 all-in) Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls. Final Pot: 17.96 BB Results in white below: SB has 8c Td (high card, queen). Hero has Kd Kh (one pair, kings). Button has 4s 4c (three of a kind, fours). Outcome: Button wins 17.96 BB. Ignoring my horrific play....This hand absolutely infuriated me. Is there any good reason why on the flop I should only be allowed to raise 1 freaking dollar? I realize this rule will likely help me as much as it hurts me in the long run (Although, how often do situations like this come up?). Are the rules like this everywhere, or does Stars handle it differently than other sites? |

Re: Why are the rules like this?
Different rules for different sites. I think the most common is that you can raise when the initial all-in bet is more than (or equal to) half a bet.

He would have called anyways and your play was fine.

He would have called anyways and your play was fine. [/ QUOTE ] The button would have called a double bet with 44 on that board? Not likely, unless he is REALLY bad. I also agree that OP played the hand fine. EDIT: then again, SB did coldcap with T8o, so maybe 44 would have called a double bet. |
