Default how to play AAxx - 400 PLO

Hey, im very new to online PLO, and i just went through my database of hands and noticed that pretty much all of my losses so far have been with AAxx hands. this made me wonder where/if im going wrong with them, and if im overplaying them too much.

here is an example of an AAxx that i think i might have played badly -

issues that i have with my play:
1) raising PF - is it worth it to raise from my position given that i will be out of positon for the whole hand and i dont really get much money in there pf anyway.
2) my turn play. what is the best way to proceed on the turn?

villian was 80/2/.8 over 40 hands if that makes any difference.

Because its a raised pot and the flop is rainbow, it is very likley one of the two opponents is drawing to a broadway.

Do not bet the turn, fold to the raise (You have only 9 outs, giving you odds of 3,6:1 and you gets 2:1 pot odds with no money left behind).
If you see a chance to get some money (at least 1/2 potsize at the river), if you hit your full house, I will play check/call at the turn.

Don hit the turn play spot on.

Raising PF isn't necessarily bad, but I try not to build pots out of position, especially in full ring where you can be VERY out of position. I think in one of the more popular omaha books the author says something about not ever raising in the first 3 positions, and I think this is not bad advice.

If you're going to raise UTG, be sure you are doing it with other good non-AA hands, obv.

did either of you muppets even read the hand? Folding to the turn raise is the most retarded advice I have ever heard on this forum, the raise is tiny.

I would play the hand the exact same. You can make an argument for checking the turn, but a lot of the time no one will have JTxx and you can get value from worse hands here.

If anyone disagrees, look at what you got called by on the flop. One guy has gutshot/mid pair/bd flush draw. The other guy could only have had a gutshot/the low wrap/a made hand that you had crushed. Most of the time you make a huge profit in this hand.

I don't think your raise preflop is terrible, but I would prefer disguising my hand with just calling here. Nobody expects you to have anything if you are in the blinds. You can also minraise/reraise if the table conditions are right (ie aggressive).

After your preflop pot raise, the flop bet is standard. You should also pot if you had raised with something like AKxx.

Turn T,J, or Q is trouble for you since there was no flush draw on the flop. You have 9 outs to win and 3 outs to tie. Since there are 2 players behind, I think check and evaluate the action / pot odds is the best play. If you had raised preflop with a hand like AKJT preflop and potted the flop, this would have been the time to go for a check-raise. Ribbo makes this play all the time!

Personally i think raising a weak AA hand oop in a full ring is a bad move, however hitting the ace on the flop is the best possible thing for a pfr with Aces. So the problem isnt really with your pre-flop or flop play.

On the turn I think you can get away from this hand. Possibly check/fold if he bets. I know 40 hands is not a lot to get a read from stats but you got a pretty basic approximation that this guy is a loose passive type. That being said he its a real possiblity that this guy has Q-J-10 in his hand or just J-10. Its a hard lay down to make but I go for the check fold on the turn.

i def agree with the arguments for a turn check/evaluate action, esp given no flush draw on the flop.

i was on mad tilt after this and a few other AAxx hands i lost but in hindsight i think i played a pretty weak game overall and its become clear to me that i have a looong way to go w my PLO game. however from what ive seen so far it appears that PLO has the potential to be a lot more profitable than NLH.

thx for the help ppl, ill prob be posting a lot more dodgy hands of mine over the next few months, assuming i dont get fed up w PLO and just go back to playing NLH exclusively

In what book did it say not to raise the first three position in full ring PLO?

Does, in general, the forum find this sound advice?
