Ok, I work at a poker club in NYC.

Let me just say that you're not seeing the whole picture. You said getting 86'ed from the poker club isn't a concern of yours. Ok sure, understandable. Maybe what you don't realize though is that if you rat out a possible mob-connected club or even threaten to rat them out, you could possibly get 86'ed from life.

"I'm now begining to guess that no one here knows. There's also an ethic here that I find odd, honor amongst thieves."

The players are not thieves but you're certainly ruining for everyone that plays there. That in turn will deliver some terrible karma at your door step and cause you possible injury or even worse.

My advice: I would find a new poker club so you don't get yourself into trouble. What's the rake there anyway? Pretty much everywhere in Manhattan you're paying $5/30min.

I'm of course only talking about time rake and not how much they take out of each pot.

10% no cap in a NL game.

There's next to no chance I'd even threaten to rat this game out but i might make an effort to get a couple other players semi-organized in protesting the rake.

Protest the rake how? By stomping your feet? No longer playing there? You have no moves here. If you don't plan to rat them out, then why explore that possibility? What are you hoping to gain here? You can't get what you want, so you piss on everybody else? What's your motivation? You're a loose cannon. Do everybody a favor and simply stop going if it bothers you so much.

Let me guess, you're 22, and have only recently been playing games that weren't online or in a dorm or in someone's parents' basement?

Well done. You considered it for 10 seconds and that lead you to conclude I have no outs.

I have outs. There are a handful of regulars that start the games. Just a little united action can cut the house earn by a bunch. Then it's only -EV for the greedy manager and +EV for everyone, even the fish, even the dealers if we cut or cap the rake.

Looking at your posts, I don't see much consistency, other than your hot-headedness. Yet I'm at fault for not knowing what your plan is? You have the entire home/bar poker community telling you that you're approaching this in exactly the wrong way, yet you continue to insult those attempting to prevent you from making what could be a very big mistake. At best you get booted from the game. At worst... well, have fun picking your teeth up off the floor... if you're lucky.

How about you lay down some projections, let us know what you think might happen, and how you plan to follow-up?

Ah, I just glanced at a bit of your history and see that you spend most of your time in Politics.

That explains a great deal. It's not my duty to save you, but just know that there's a better way of life than that ruled by polarized thinking.
