Are you high? WoW expansion is extremely likely. We know there will be a new expansion announced soon it would make perfect sense to announce an expansion and give away a beta key. Why wouldn't they just say Starcraft 2 beta key if it were for Starcraft 2?

Thought I heard a rumor of someone connected saying they wanted to try to do one a year, but I can't remember the source. Wouldn't be surprised if one was out in 2008 at some point.

Just because they're giving away beta keys at Blizzcon doesn't mean the beta for the game will start right after Blizzcon is over.

Pardo said in a recent interview the only thing he would say about SC2's release date is that it would NOT be this year (some people were thinking it might be before xmas 07).

Blizzard has a tendency to relase games in the summer. I'm thinking it will be late summer 08 (pure speculation)

I'm not sure where that would leave SC'2s beta (probably Feb-April 08)

True, both WoW and it's expansion were released in January's.

However their previous 4 games (War3, War3 Expansion, Diablo 2, Diablo 2 Expansion) were all released in June/July.
