Re: Why do you work out / diet / train?
[ QUOTE ]
The greatest feeling you can get in a gym, or the most satisfying feeling you can get in the gym is... The Pump. Let's say you train your biceps. Blood is rushing into your muscles and that's what we call The Pump. You muscles get a really tight feeling, like your skin is going to explode any minute, and it's really tight - it's like somebody blowing air into it, into your muscle. It just blows up, and it feels really different. It feels fantastic. Having a pump is like having sex. I train two, sometimes three times a day. Each time I get a pump. It's great. I feel like I'm coming all day. [/ QUOTE ] CLASSIC! |

Re: Why do you work out / diet / train?
lol The Pump. I work out / diet / train for the same reasons as some others on here. I want to be functionally strong, it makes me feel good to lift heavy stuff. I like playing basketball and want to be able to dunk one day. Looking good is like a side effect for me. I don't train to look good but as a result of what I train for I'm going to end up looking good.

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah obviously I know where Ignatius is - my father's an alumus I dated a girl from Normandy as well. I graduated in 2001, went to Tri-C for PSEOP (that head start college thing) for my senior year. Played baseball, soccer, and tennis at Parma. My cousins went to Ed's. |

[ QUOTE ] I have a girlfriend........ ....but I still work out to look good for bitches. [/ QUOTE ] shes a lucky girl [/ QUOTE ] I'd never cheat. She counts as one of the bitches! Still, I don't care about how I look for my own sake, and I'm pretty sure she'd love me if I gained 20lbs., but for some reason I still go to the gym daily. It's more to look good for everyone else, but including men sounds a little gay? Basically, since I'm in law school and not doing anything cool like backpacking S. America, I figure I might as well perfect the whole standard american dream path, and looking good is part of that. |

Re: Why do you work out / diet / train?
We have transformed our society into one of convenience so that if we follow the path of least resistance, as we are all programmed to do, we can be as sedentary as humanly possible.
I exercise because human beings are not supposed to be a sedentary specie. The human body requires regular exercise to remain healthy, both physically and mentally. While I do care how I look to others, I care more about how I feel. If I don't get regular exercise I feel like crappo. Some quotes from the late Dr. George Sheehan: "Fitness has to be fun. If it is not play, there will be no fitness. Play, you see, is the process. Fitness is merely the product." "Sweat cleanses from the inside. It comes from places a shower will never reach." "Play is where life lives." "Everyone is an athlete. The only difference is that some of us are in training, and some are not." |

So the other rugby teams will hate seeing me next season.
So decompression times limit my diving, not air. To break the routine of desk, couch, bed. So I don't wind up dead before I do something stupid and get myself killed. Oh yah, and bitches. |
