Re: I 3b OOP: are we cbetting flop? betting turn? betting river?
From the title OOP i am assuming that means Out Of Position, but you are acutally in position.
Not having in details on the player its difficult to give advice but here goes. Usually when people raise coming in and smooth call a raise OOP i give them anywhere from PP to more likely 99-JJ AJ-AK and sometimes a weaker suited ace. I usually continuation bet just about every flop, but if you dont the check is fine. When turn brings a second A i would feel pretty good the guy didnt have an A given the fact that 3 A's out at that point is unlikely. Once the villian checks to you on the turn i would rap back looking to check call the river or get him to call a river bet. I feel like most good players in that spot might bet the turn without an ace trying to represent with something like a PP or a J. And even if the villian had a weaker A i could see him checking the flop to you and if you check i think he bets the turn knowing that he will probably get called by a decently wide range and check call the river. |

IMO, he rarely has an A here...I cbet that flop like 100%. Not much value to be had here...More valuable to cbet for metagame.

I think your line is fine here. River value bet is standard as played. I think I also like betting the turn unless villain is tricky enough to checkraise you light.

I like a flop c-bet here, because you re-raised pre, and because the board is fairly drawy.

Wouldn't a c-bet just turn our hand into a bluff though? What worse hand calls? I can't see a better hand folding very often (aside from maybe KK)

Re: I 3b OOP: are we cbetting flop? betting turn? betting river?
I don't normally C-bet here. Since I would c-bet this flop with a lot of [censored] hands, i think i should be doing it with QQ here as well, but only against good observant players.
For the c-bet to be profitable, you need to know your opponent knows you have a wide range here, and will then call you lighter. People don't normally call a 3-bet and a flop bet OOP very light unless they have a specific read. Against a typical donk then, I think a flop check behind is fine because when he calls he will have an Ace 95% of the time. As i said before, a good player will call with more hands, and a bet makes your hand less transparent. To sum up: good player - bet bad player - check |
