Final table play 5 left
I'd like to work on my final table play because I keep getting fifth place. Here are a couple of situations I'd like opinions on.
1. Table has been relatively tight. What is my UTG push range? (I assumed I should be in push mode) 30000/60000 Ante 7500 UTG Hero (964,859) (1,018,948) (2,261,917) SB(1,233,590) BB (2,239,686) 2. The Villain has not tried to steal the blinds very much...often folding his small blind to me. Blinds 1500/3000 12101 Button Villain 87945 SB Hero 58812 BB 52229 58913 Villain raises 10,000. I have pocket eights. The blinds are still relatively low and I was unsure of the correct play here. |

Re: Final table play 5 left
Your M is at 8 (but 1/2 because 5-handed so 4). Yeah push mode but surely your range isn't too wide just yet.

Re: Final table play 5 left
When I am the short-stack I tend to push a lot of hands until I become the big stack. How wide I push depends on how much I have been pushing and the other players obviously.
As for the 88 hand, I'd shove pretty quickly. |

Re: Final table play 5 left
For #1 I was pushing any ace, king, and other obvious hands and in retrospect was not sure if that was correct.

Re: Final table play 5 left
That's fine if you're at a table of knits. Otherwise, I wouldn't be so dicey as to shove any Ace or King in that spot.
I shove that 88 hand all day long. --TFGoose |
