If you really want to stop scamming ban all paypal transfers. No serious poker player/nonscammer is going to trade paypal.

Thanks.

I'm not sure that we have heard of one Paypal scam within this thread. That's not to say that there won't be one round the corner, and I am certainly not 100% au fait with Paypal rules, but I have been assuming people have been, say, selling and recording the sale of unique poems or paintings to the Paypal person to legitimise the payment and avoid later cancellation.

The alleged scams we have heard of have been simply that the person who received first supposedly didn't complete his part of the deal.

With regard to people's post counts and date of registration, I agree it seems likely that some people will join the site just to try a quick scam, but the vast majority are merely new to the pokerworld and this site, and I feel it is unfair to exclude them because of a few bad eggs in their "group". The long-time posters here should have the wit to ask the noobs to transfer first. The noobs should only deal with the long-timers. If noobs want to deal with noobs, then they need to take more care in obtaining full real life information; checking the other guy can sit at a table with the money involved; only transferring in small chunks; etc; etc.

The problem is most of these guys have 10 posts and registered yesterday, and all their posts are in this thread. They have nothing to lose if they scam whereas a guy with 200 or 300 posts has invested some time and interest in this website.

The Paypal thing is easy...to my knowledge it's the only type of transfer that can be scammed even if someone sends first. There are dozens of ways to transfer money online. If most of the likely scammers are asking for paypal money and paypal is the only way to scam people if the scammer sends first, then it makes sense to inconvenience a few people to protect the many.

Thanks. I'm listening.

Assuming someone has no money on sites that allow transfers, but they do have a Paypal account, what are some of the dozens of current ways to transfer money p2p online? (And they need to be relatively instant methods, to cater for the usual scenario of the (probably US) person wanting to play that day.)

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong forum i wasnt sure where to put it... im heading to atlantic city in a few days and need about $5000 cash. I want to transfer that to someone and then they can help me out at a casino and give me the money. I will have a computer on the spot so the transfer is made in front of the person and we can wait until it clears. Anyways, PM me for details, I need this offer in the next day. Thanks

My mom won an entry to WSOP event 47: $2,000 NLH through raketherake.
(event 47 starts 6/29)
and she would like to sell it for $1,800

the package is fully transferrable through rtr,

basically here's how it works:
1) you send my mom the money on FT
2) you must buy yourself into Event47
3) rtr will reimburse you afterwards for full $2,000

and rtr can fully verify this if someone is seriously interested...
please PM me for more details or email me...

oh, and if you buy this, you must be willing to wear rtr gear when you play

first come first serve.
