Default Building muscle without gaining weight

OK, the subject might be a bit misleading. It's not like I'm trying not to gain weight. I'm 5'8 and weigh 125 lb. I know.

I don't have a problem working out, but I DO have a problem eating a lot. I wonder if I'm missing out A LOT when it comes to building muscle by not eating enough.

Maybe I'm thinking the opposite way, but by working out and building muscle, I gain weight because of the added weight of the muscle?

So my question is when it comes to building muscle, how important is it to eat a lot to the point the I gain weight? If it's basically a "must" thing to do, I'm thinking about drinking weight gainer.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Soh

Yes, yes you are. If you want to build muscle, you have to give your body the raw material to do it with in the form of FOOD. Not just weight gainer, not just protein sups, but actual food. Lots and lots of food.

You obviously need to be lifting regularly and with intensity as well.

What do you mean you have a problem eating? For that height your pretty close to being underweight imo. A good 25lbs woudl be good for you. That can be achieved by eating clean and getting tons of protein in yoru diet.

Youll see a lot more muscle growth then

I'm not really exactly sure what you're trying to say here. Of course muscle has weight so adding muscle will add weight. And, yes, adding muscle does require the body have the requisitie building materials available from which to to build the muscle. Since it obtains those building materials from food, yes, you do need to eat enough. Or maybe i'm confused about what you're asking?

You answered my question.

Basically I don't eat that much. I was wondering if it's possible to build muscle without changing the way I eat, more specifically the amount. Now I know the answer. I got to eat more to build muscle.

Yep, you have to eat, eat, eat. It's actually pretty hard to eat enough if you're as thin as you are. I suggest eating a lot of peanut butter and protein shakes. Oatmeal is always good, too.

Dunno. Maybe he is imprisoned and doesn't get a lot to eat.

To the OP: You are definitely underweight.

OP you can think of it very easily

You have an average calorie level that you maintain your weight at. When you add exercise to your daily life that means you are burnign calories that you normally werent burning. You then need to eat more food to get back to that average calorie level to maintain your weight. To gain weight you need to increase that level which means even more calories.
