Hi,
I haven't played poker much (I know the rules and basic principles), but since I am very intelligent (and lazy), I plan to start playing poker for a living. Before you people start bashing me, I must tell you, that i need to earn only 3$/hour (playing 8 hours/day) to live very good in a east european country where i reside (I guess 3$/hour here, equals around 20$/hour in USA). So, i am asking you, which is the easiest way to earn this amount. Is this NL, limit, HU, SNGs? I intend to play on the smallest limits i can, since i dont have any ambitions to become good at poker - I only want to earn 3$/hour, which I believe can be done with a very basic and simple strategy, without knowing advanced strategy. (or am i wrong?) So, is it possible to earn that amount without to much hardwork and following only basic principles (playing with best hands etc., be disciplined) Thanks for replies |

I think you are vastly underating how much work it takes to be a winning poker player. Let alone a player whos making $20/hr.
As for what games you should play that is going to depend on your personality and a few other things. Basically just try it all and see what you like best. |

Don't take my advice for cash since I'm in search of answerers too, but it seems to me that if you play 3 tables at the $.50/$1 at Limit tables only and only play your monster starting hands, it should do the job. I would raise them from any position and you would get the blinds to fold (in most cases) and anyone who limped in may call you and reconsider his play once you check raise him on the turn. If he doesn't and takes you on, you decide for yourself if it's worth persuing based on your hand verses the cards on the table and the player who is challenging you. Keep in mind that good players who challenge Tight players will often hold something better. You may want to call from there on. This is the beauty of Limit poker.
