Default ESPN Poker Club disses Sklansky

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/poker...ory?id=2907805

They really messed this one up. This is all in reference to Sklansky's recent 5th place finish in the WSOP (event 24). As my first post, I hope this relates to the home town crowd here.

Quote:
Other notable finishers include Dutch Boyd (third), Thor Hansen (sixth), John Cernuto (ninth), Michael DeMichelle (12th), and Marcel Luske (13th).

Notice that David Sklansky, one of the most recognizable names in the real poker world (by real, i mean not the "tv" poker world) is not mentioned for his 5th place finish. I mean how is Dutch Boyd or Michael DeMichelle more "notable finishers" than Sklansky. I mean hell, Sklanksy changed the poker world by writing his books on gambling and poker theory. David and his two plus two staff are considered the number one poker authority, period. Whenever you put some young guns who were on tv one time over a poker great, what are you saying? ESPN should be ashamed to exclude Sklansky from this "notable finish list".
Frankly, their coverage on poker is terrible. This is just as bad as their weekly tips where they give mediocre advice. I don't mean to get on a rant here, but this is the last straw with the ESPN poker club. It's obvious they dont care about poker coverage and just want to cash in on poker while it is still a fad. Can you imagine if ESPN covered other sports this way. Like say that they were covering baseball and were talking about the all time homerun list and best homerun hitters. They clearly mention Bonds, Ruth, and Aaron. Then they say that other "notable homerun hitters" were McGwire, Sosa, and Frank Thomas. They fail to mention Willie Mays. That would probably be the baseball equivalent with what the ESPN poker club is doing to Sklansky right now.
I would like to see David's thought on this as well.

meh, I don't want ESPN giving out good poker advice or spotlighting players that have published good books on poker and gambling.

Fish are in short supply these days as it is.

ESPN is a tv network. The important poker players to them are the people they've featured on WSOP telecasts or on US Poker Championship shows.
They assume that all info about poker their average reader has comes from only watching their telecasts.
