Re: whats the rule when a winning all-in player leaves thinking he lost?
Something similar happened to me in a weekly tournament. Short stack pushes in early position. I call in BB without looking. We both happen to have hands. He has AQo and I have TT. I flop a set, but he makes a backdoor straight on the river.
He is already walking away and the dealer mucks his hand. I say he won. Dealer calls floor who gives him the hand. Other people at the table say they didn't say anything because they weren't in the hand. I am obviously not an angle shooter and the chips were about 5% of my stack. I didn't agree with the other people not saying anything, because when the cards are face up it seems like the hand should be awarded to the correct person. |

this is great, james woods brags about his 180 IQ any time he is on tv and he cant even figure out that a pair of aces beats king high, this guy is such a moron and tool PS he gets blinded off if he walks away and doesnt know. [/ QUOTE ] At least get the details right. He didn't know a pair of aces beats a pair of 2s with a K kicker. Not K high. |

Dealer pushes Jimmy the pot, all-the-while showing you a big-ole sh**-eating grin.

Wow, alot of anger in this thread.
I bet Woods felt like a real tool when he came back to the table. |

Re: whats the rule when a winning all-in player leaves thinking he los
The winning hand gets shipped the pot. You don't get rights to those chips no matter what since you lost the hand.
Perhaps you would have preferred the dealer push the chips to an empty seat and let them sit there unstacked. Did you actually think that you should be entitled to those chips after losing a hand that went to showdown? |

Re: whats the rule when a winning all-in player leaves thinking he los
So, what is the correct etiquette for players at the table not in the hand once both hands are tabled? Speak up if one person thinks he lost but didn't, or keep your mouth shut and let the two of them and the dealer sort it out?

You're bringing up an entirely different situation. The dealer called James Woods back to his seat. He was doing his job.
OP is a fool if he seriously thinks he should have been pushed that pot. He's also the reason I love this game. |
