To make a re-steal move you have to be a good observant of your table and see what player are raising all the time and which are just expecting to get the right cards to move in.

Also I like to re-steal from the middle stacks. Small stacks are too desperate and might call with a mediocre hand that can be better than yours and a large stack can find that he has the proper odds to call your re-raise and knock you out.

Also I like to chose what hands to use in a re-steal, I don't like hands like Aces or Kings with small kickers, I prefer hands like 98 or T7 because if someone is raising with an Ace and you try to re-steal you are in better shape if you have T7 against AJ than if you have A7 against AJ.

Also you have to be willing to put all your chips in the middle when you do the re-steal. They have to have something to lose if you win the hand.

Against a lot of ranges A7 does better than T7, and never does much worse.

You're right. But for a re-steal I prefer to play with hands that usually aren't dominated.

Ok, thank you.
Though I feel that calling range too tight, lots of players call with much less. Probably down to A8 and 55+, what increases the equity of T7.

BTW, can you tell me what's the equity of 98s when compared with the same range?

win% equity
Hand 0: 34.86% 35.21% { T7s }
Hand 1: 64.44% 64.79% { 55+, A8+,KQo }

win% equity
Hand 0: 35.45% 35.86% { 98s }
Hand 1: 63.72% 64.14% { 55+, A8+,KQo }

win% equity
Hand 0: 33.55% 36.30% { A7s }
Hand 1: 60.95% 63.70% { 55+, A8+,KQo }

So I think for this range this hands are almost equal in equity.

so i have done reading and i was ready to resteal my way deep into some mtts last night. First one about 30 from the money a guy in mp has been raising a lot raised, i have 10bb left he has about 18, i look down at 78s and push, he calls with KK. gg me

second one i am in bb with 9Ts, mp limp, 2 more limp, button limps, i have about 14bb left and push, fold to button who calls with AJ, gg me

3rd one i am in co seat in the Full Tilt 100 6max and 25 to money. UTG+1 (remember 6max) raises, he has about 10bb left behind and he had just won an all in the previous hand so i think he doesnt want to lose a pot so i push all in, have him covered by about 1000 chips and the donkey calls with KK and my QJ no good.

i suck at sucking out.

i think i have the concept down now i just need that program to see their cards and i will be all set.

better luck tonight.

I made some "re-steals" in a tournament last night. I'll post a few examples later today.
