I have a father, but he's a douche and I hate him and haven't really spoken to him in about 12 years. Does that count?

Father died when I was six. Mother died when I was 8. So I really don't know what I am missing but I am quite sure it is cool.

This is an interesting thread. Friday i was at the bank, and the teller asked me what i was doing this weekend. i mentioned that the parents were coming over to our house for Father's Day. Then I asked her what she was doing for Father's Day, she says, "My father passed away 9 years ago."

That seriously hit me hard. I have never felt so awkward in my life. I realized how easy it is to take things in life for granted. My condolences to all who don't have a father to celebrate with today.
