Re: I can\'t persuade myself that he has a better hand
[ QUOTE ]
I dunno, this river play looks to be a whole lot of BS, meaning he most often has a hand that he's just going to chuck. Not sure why it's impossible or even unlikely that he made some nasty two pair on the river, and while I think you're a pretty big favorite on the first river bet going into the pot, the second is going to look pretty bad when it gets matched. -Michael [/ QUOTE ] So if you had ace high or missed straight draw here you bluff raise everytime? You can't have it both ways. -DeathDonkey |

Re: I can\'t persuade myself that he has a better hand
I think he is going to have 98 here pretty often. This sounds like the type of player that will not raise you on the turn since his two pair makes him worry that you now have a straight draw. A very safe card for him came on the river and he was worried that you would check behind (since that is what he does), so he donks.

Re: I can\'t persuade myself that he has a better hand
Last time a player donked into me like this, he had a gutshot. Value raises only work if they get payed off by worse hands. You think he calls you with a worse 9?

I raised, he got a disgusted look on his face that told me the hand I thought was the nuts is no good. He called. J8 good. I really love it when someone's awful play accidentally gets the absolute max value. |
