River tubing.
River tubing has been a joy of mine since I was in high school. It consists of getting a group of people together anywhere from the size of 6 to 50 or to only god knows how many people on apple river. Everybody brings however much beer with them that they want by floating a cooler with a rope down the river with them, and whoever wants to bring "other things" can do that too. Depending on who you're with it can either be one of the most relaxing things, or one of the most rowdy things of your life. I'm curious if this is just a local thing where it's really popular to do here or in the midwest in general, or if this is a pretty common thing for everyone when they're still young. I guess what I'm asking is, Have you ever gone river tubing?

Re: River tubing.
I agree that it's very fun and it does happen in California reasonably often.
A few years ago some [censored] tied a keg to his leg. Well the keg fell out of the tube, sunk, and brought the dude with it. |

All the time. Keg is a must. [/ QUOTE ] I've never actually done it with a keg, but we've always talking about floating a flat bottom down with us or something to carry a keg with us. How did you pull it off exactly? I also figured that cups would be much easier to get river water splashed into then cans/bottles. |

Re: River tubing.
What we normally do is take the tub that we use for the keg at home (think round laundry tub). Put that in a tube that is the right size so that the tub fits in snugly and cant fall through. Then put keg and ice in the tub.
Cups do have an added risk of contamination...but who gives a [censored], dump it out and pour another. I mean, you should be drinking fast enough that this is a minimal issue anyways. |

The best part of the apple river is when all the drunks go through the rapids and fall into the river.
