Default 25 Max: Nut flush draw to TPTK

This is completely readless, very first hand of a session in fact, so I don't know if that should alter how I play, but please tell me where I went wrong here.

Raise flop.

Really? What's your reasoning behind this? Raise based on the strength of my draw or on the fact that my opponent most likely missed the flop based on his preflop open, or a combination of both? Or something else entirely?

[/ QUOTE ]All three. Probably just a c-bet by him, you don't have a made hand yet... it's just a good spot to raise.

What if I check raise to 4 on the flop and he repops it to 12-14? What if he pushes? I'd instamuck in both cases, but I'm curious to see what you guys think.

[/ QUOTE ]I'd call(the push)/push(the raise) if he did, not fold.

if he repops and we are 100bbs deep or lower, i think im folding. 80% of the time your looking at qq+ and i dont think we have odds to call. That said, if were commiting here a push is obv better then a call

Close to a worse case scenerio...

37,620 games 0.005 secs 7,524,000 games/sec

Board: 5s 5c 8s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 58.289% 58.24% 00.05% 21909 19.50 { 99+, KsQs, 7s6s, 75s, 65s, 54s }
Hand 1: 41.711% 41.66% 00.05% 15672 19.50 { AsJs }

You're only a 58/42 dog + fold equity + money in the pot make this a c/r on flop and call of push if he pushes. Against a tighter preflop raising range...

30,690 games 0.062 secs 495,000 games/sec

Board: 5s 5c 8s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 55.601% 55.58% 00.02% 17058 6.00 { 99+, KsQs }
Hand 1: 44.399% 44.38% 00.02% 13620 6.00 { AsJs }
