Default Transfer problem

I cashed out everything I had on Full Tilt awhile ago and have been playing Stars. I started missing Full Tilt and wanted to move some of my money there. I found someone willing to trade on Full Tilt and he agreed that he'd send if I sent first. So I transferred the money to this individual's Stars account and he said he got it. I asked him to send to me and he said okay. Then he logged off of AOL and I still haven't gotten my money. I just sent an email to Stars but haven't heard anything.

What can I do and how can I get my money back if I'm sure this person, now, has no intention of sending?

This all happened yesterday and I waited a day to see if I would hear back from this person and still nothing. I haven't seen him playing online either. The money in question is mid 4 figures.

Are you people really that dumb? I could never imagine just giving money to some guy met at the internets and hope he will give it back to me.

There's nothing you can do except report the theft to your local police. You would have to show them copies of the contract you made by e-mail and his real life name, address and telephone number. Even then, most people here say that there is little chance of your getting your money back, I'm afraid.

If he is on this site, let us know his posting-name, plus his playing-names at both sites, so that perhaps the next person may not be scammed by him when they do Searches on his names.

I really hope this is a joke man b/c your money is gone. What is the matter with some of you people? Go through and read some of the warnings MH has posted towards the end of this thread:

Mid 4 figs to somebody you just met on the internet, who wanted you to send first? Jesus take a few precautions next time.

Don't have his real life name but do have his email. I will post more later. Could Stars not freeze the funds?

That may not be enough to trace him.

I believe there are laws regarding internet fraud. It may be difficult, but, if you have good info on him, like his name and address, you may be able to recover in a court of law.
Good luck, 'cause it's a bit of a long shot!
