Hello,
It's called valsalva, and it refers to holding your breath while closing your glottis.(vocal cords) When this happens your intrathoracic pressure rises above your central venous pressure, which decreases venous return to the right atrium, which in turn decreases cardiac output and oxygen delivery to your brain. I think this is what is accounting for these symptoms. Good luck, Ethan |
