Re: Do I bet this flop?
The critical info here is the buy-in.
Mid stakes MTT players are apt to see a half pot bet as weak and might float/raise with a mid PP or AJ-, whereas small stakes MTTers will just say "damn, well I guess my TT is no good" and get out of the way. $30+: Weak Cbet, repping TT-KK $30-: Check, fire most turns? |

[ QUOTE ] I like, but is your bet not a wee bit large? [/ QUOTE ] The bigger your bet the more it looks like a bluff. Even the fish know that strong means weak. If we had 7k-8k behind on the flop I am betting pot every time. [/ QUOTE ] OK, I see the value of your argument. I still think my roughly 1/2 pot size "weak" bet is OK, but I can see the value of the internet donk auto-pot bet too. I don't like your 3/4 of pot as much though - looks too .... smart. Re: Do I bet this flop?
Most of the time, I'd lean towards a check here. He open-limped from the button. Does he seriously have an A here ever? I doubt it.
If villain were aggressive, I'd go for a 1/3-1/2 pot bet and hope he raises. Depending on stack depth we either shove or we tank-call and check/shove turn. Unless I had a read that he was aggressive, I'd just check it. Against his likely open-limping hand range on the button, he'll fold to a flop bet almost always. Just hope for a Q,J,K turn card and then bet at it. Who knows, maybe you will get really lucky and his PP will make a full on the turn. |

Re: Do I bet this flop?
this happens so rarely its not a not a big deal. the ace affords you to lead out if you choose and pray hes got the ace. or you can dbl check it to induce a bluff /call/or raise
