Default Is limit poker dying?

While playing the local low limit game at Belterra casino saturday night, a disturbing realization occurred to me. Limit holdem may soon be a thing of the past!
The high school and college kids play tournament style almost exclusively. Other new players learn the basics by watching the WSOP, WPT, and Celebrity Poker. Almost all of these telecasts utilize no limit formats.
I've talked with many poker playing co-workers who have NEVER played a cash game!
I hope that I am completely off base with my assessment, but unfortunately, I think I should begin honing my no limit skills. Because in the future, it may be the only game in town!

Limit holdem has way more fish, so I would say no.

At NYC clubs for the past year, it has been pretty difficult to find limit games.

Not in AC it don't. So far the NL fish have just kept coming back. Maybe you mean at higher limits...this I cannot say...

I think it is, yes. It won't die out though.

from my understanding, most of the big pros have always been playing high-limit games. from the poker boom due to wsop and such, the no-limit has really picked up. this has lead to most local places playing mostly no-limit. however, all the casinos still have way more limit games going than nl from what i've seen. my guess is that eventually all the n00bs will get tired of it, lose all their money, or move to limit if they are really serious about it.

I have played the lower limits at AC--both nl and limit.

The NL games are a total f'ing joke. So are the limit games. Honestly, I am not sure which games are better.

I watched Celebrity Poker Showdown today and they pretty much played like it was limit poker, so there might be hope.

They raise to 2X the BB and then donkbet the same amount on all subsequent rounds of betting. At least Phil Gordon and Dave Foley are better commentators than the WSOP and WPT. Anyway, I'm just rambling now.
