[/ QUOTE ]

Does she even have a a roll or is she staked by UB in major events? I haven't heard too many stories of Annie Duke recently playing cash games.

Annie Duke, with her views, running a lady's poker school is like the Catholic church running abortion counseling services.

Think of things as if you were a woman. Would you really be all that comfortable trying out a game that is a bunch of loud, generally douchey males who will be as sexist as humanly possible while you are at the table?

[/ QUOTE ]

I truly believe your intent here was not to be condescending but that is the impression I am left with if you really believe that should be the justification for having a ladies only event
.
Your assumption (at least from your comments) is that women enter poker as a hobby -- some sort of activity primarily motivated by a social need. I could be wrong but that is my read on it.

As to Annie -- read her history and how douchy she has acted to men at the table on a fairly regular basis. She is not my favorite person but on this point she is on-target.

It is totally sexist and demeaning to have a ladies only bracelet event.

The Ledermans should have stopped with Howard.

Who's Howard Lederman?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a joke. I hear him called "Lederman" all the time.

I'm waiting for the Native American Event to take off to scalp me an "easy bracelet."

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm in really good shape if we do that. Half Finn and Half German. If I am in the Finn event I get to play againt PA and if I win the German event Oliver can get me an endorsement deal.

As Dids would say, "Nguyen Nguyen"

I watched the video.

Several points:

1> She is not saying that there should not be ladies events. She is saying that there should not be a ladies event for a bracelet.

2> She is not saying Doyle Brunson can only win in a "seniors" event. She was being sarcastic. This was very clear.

3> There are christian churches that have abortion counseling services, but they counsel you to not have an abortion!

By the way, I am not an Annie Duke fan. She seems smart and is probably a very good player. But there are too many stories that portray her in a bad light, and she seems very conceited.

...

Duke is training women at her class to be great players. (Whether one seminar can do this is another story) She thinks that great women players should go against the men in open fields and not just a WOE. There is no contradiction.

Didnt Annies biggest win come from the fact that shes a woman. No way she\d be in the invitational 10 man sng without a pair of boobs... I\d like to see her give phil h. those 2 mill. then i\ll respect her lol.

[/ QUOTE ]

My understanding is that the TOC was chopped that year between everyone except Negreanu. So maybe you can respect her a little.
