Default Frequent spot... reraise a big pair preflop, flop has an ace

What's a good line?

For example, you get QQ, cutoff raises, you 3-bet from the small blind flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I used to just c-bet pretty much every hand I 3-bet with including this spot unless I got more than one caller but I feel like it's sort of turning my semi-strong hand into a bluff.

I guess it comes down to pros of betting:
-Makes it easier to play the hand/know where you stand
-Protects against a hand that would otherwise fold from catching up.
-Conceals your hand more since you'll usually want to bet an ace high flop with AK/AQ
-Protects you from being bluffed

Cons of betting
- Basically turning your hand into a bluff in most cases.
- Don't really give opponent a chance to make a mistake or bluff
- On a more drawy board it makes it difficult to know where you're at since they might call with a draw rather than an ace and tough to call a bet after betting the flop (i.e. might get a cheaper showdown)

I guess thinking it over I think I like just c-betting more and hope for a fold...

Any input/thoughts?

I think you have to c bet QQ some of the time, esp if youve been tight. But i think theres merit to checking and keeping the pot small and like you said not turn ur hand into a bluff when u have showdown value, and i think if you knwo the player well the turn bet should give u a pretty good indication to what he has.
