[/ QUOTE ]Is he going to pay off a C/R with a high flush or trip 7?

You could just have trip 3s and a good low right? This hand is pretty complex, I could definitely be talked back into check-call. Bet definitely doesn't seem right to me.

It's been a while since I've read a tournament forum. I'm pretty sure there wasn't a high-stakes MTT forum the last time I did. Is every thread that inane?

Any line that involves folding a full house for one lousy bet is ridiculous. Juanda can bet/raise with just a low, and so can TV. Checking and calling is defensible, as is betting and calling a raise.

I don't know anything about Juanda's stud/8 game, or TV's for that matter. I do know that a lot of people who play hold'em very well play stud/8 very badly. It would be nice to know the early action (did we happen to notice the size of the pot?), but it seems to me that Juanda's possible hands on fifth are basically trip Sevens or a low draw. He may not even require a good low draw depending on the size of the pot and/or his level of understanding of this game. Someone who plays stud/8 reasonably well is going to have a low draw a lot more than he's going to have trip Sevens, especially if there was a lot of action on third. If Juanda is playing stuff like (7J)7, then trips become more likely.

Checking and calling can't be far wrong, but I think that TV should bet and call a raise. Juanda will probably call with trips or a flush, hoping that TV is betting a low.

Juanda plays 1K/2K stud and stud/8 on FTP and is probably a winner in that game.

Hey there is a high stakes MTT forum, when did that start?

Given that JJ has experience playing I find it hard to believe that he started with 7x7.

Based on what I have seen of him playing in that game I would agree. He seems to play stud8 fairly well. PA on the other hand was a total fish the one time I saw him sitting in...

I saw him open complete a 2 suited [62]2. Yeah, I don't know why, either, although I'm thinking about it.

You don't play (7-baby)7 for the bring-in?
