Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog

[ QUOTE ] Take Evans. [/ QUOTE ] This is the only one that looks good to me. [/ QUOTE ] Looks like I lost money on tito from you guys are saying. Why does everyone think this? Tito just came off of a title fight. He got his ass kick, no doubt. But his ground and pound is good IMO and so is his conditioning. I missed the Evans vs Stephen fight (maybe that is a huge piece of information). Evans isnt even close to a title shot and he looked horrible throughout the TUF. I saw the brad imes fight and brad sucked. I think I saw his last fight where he finished with a head kick. I think tito has fought way harder fights and should be more than a -135 fav. I dont know how deep anderson silvas game is. Hes a hell of a striker and his clinch is crazy. I also have no idea who nate is at all...sounds familiar (was he on TUF?) |

Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog
bebo,
you need to see rashad's last two fights. judging him for the way he fought in the ultimate fighter series is a joke. i agree with everyone else. i think he should be a slight favorite in this fight. |

Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog
Correct picks:
Okami Baroni Pulver only because he's such a dog. Still think BJ will win but you can't pass up +300. Marquardt, Anderson's ground game is terrible. Nate will control him on the ground and grind out a decision. Sherk's too strong for Franca. Evans, but this is a tough one. I wouldn't bet on it, it's too close. |

apple: believe me, I know more about this than you. A. Silva's ground game is no good, Marquardt will take him down and control him. Lutter is nowhere near Nate's level, and even he could control Silva on the ground for the whole first round until he made a rookie mistake and got caught in a triangle.Silva's got the belt because 2 people were stupid enough to stand with him, and Lutter is a can. Marquardt is a perfect stylistic matchup

But back to the original point You saying Anderson Silva has a bad ground game is just ignorance and anyone that knows MMA would call you out on it. |

Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog
i too would be curious why he thinks silvas ground game is weak. his black belt is from a great school and the times ive seen him on the ground he has looked really good.
i have no doubt that he knows more about it than me but i would love to hear why he thinks that, because it seems a ridiculous statement. just because somebodies muay thai is great dosent mean they dont have good jiu jitsu as well. |

Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog
i disagree about silvas ground game as well. he has looked pretty good on the ground when i have seen him. decent submissions and those long legs give him a very tight guard in which he often utilyzes a body triangle to keep his opponents from raising up and also sucks the air out of them. marquadt is a former king of pancrasse and seems to be the real deal but i just dont know enough about him to comment on the line.
i can see where you guys may think the tito line is off but i cannot imagine him being an underdog to rashad. rashad has no doubt come a long way but tito is still one of the best 205ers (well maybe not the absolute cream of the crop considering the pride guys) i think sherk is just way too strong for franca, although i would love to see an upset as i find sherk a little on the boring side. it dosent have much to do with franca i just think that sherk is a monster at 155 and it is hard to think of many guys that he cant grind out a win against. maybe if bj drops down or something or someone like melvin guillard matures. dont know about the shamrock baroni line but i kinda like baroni in that. may be my intense dislike for shamrock coming through. i for one hope baroni hits him with that big wild right hand and knocks him silly. what do you guys think about the rampage/henderson fight? my gut tells me this is a bad matchup for henderson. it also however tells me that you can never count out dan henderson, especially coming off his last fight. i havent seen a line but considering rampages impressive last performance and the american betting public not knowing as much about dan i wouldnt be surprised if we see a lopsided line on this one. any thoughts? |

Re: ufc 72 + 73 on bodog
Yes, Tito's gnp is good, but Evans' wrestling is much better than Tito's. I really like Evans here as I feel this is just a bad match up for Tito.
The question for me is when to bet it. The line has already moved slightly in Tito's favor. Will it continue to do so? Speculating line movements is something that I havent not gotten a grasp of yet. |
