op, the fact that so many people who absolutely despise annie duke and would like any excuse to call her an idiot (i.e. me) are disagreeing with you should be enough to tell you that your grasp on logic, at least regarding this situation, is poor. curse you for making us defend annie, seriously

I don't see any hypocrisy. She said she has no problem with ladies' events generally -- just don't call it a "World Championship event" if half the population is excluded. So winning the ladies event should not earn someone a WSOP bracelet, but other than that there's no problem.

The camp she was an instructor at was was not a World Championship Camp.

Note, I also posted something similar...blah, blah, blah...

Her only argument seems to be that it should not be a bracelet event.

If there's an all-Irish event, count me in.

Well, seems Jeffery Pollack has weighed in about weather or not the the Ladies WSOP event will remain a bracelet event in his blog over here:

was back at the Rio tonight and on hand to give Sally Anne Boyer her first WSOP bracelet. What an amazing story this is: first-ever WSOP Academy, first-ever WSOP, first-ever WSOP cash, and first-ever bracelet -- all in a few days. The beauty of the WSOP is that anyone can enter and anyone can win, and Sally proved that fact again tonight.

While we're on the Ladies Event, I want to put a nasty rumor to bed. Someone has been telling folks at the tournament that the Ladies Bracelet Event is going away. Absolutely wrong! As long as I'm Commissioner, and as long as women keep turning out in droves for this event like they did this year, the Ladies World Championship will be on our schedule -- as a bracelet event and as a very special part of the WSOP.

Logic dictates that if she thinks that it's an insult to have a Women's only event, then she should feel that a women's only poker school is the same kind of insult.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're not very good at logic.

Which goes a long way towards explaining the OP's support for womens only events, I suppose.

One other food for thought item here about the Poker School. If she was concerned about getting more women to play in mixed events, then why didn't she donate an entry to say a $1,500 event, instead of the prize for the tourney at the end of the classes, being into the Ladies $1,000 event?

That IMO, would of really encoraged women to sign up for the mixed events.
