Be yourself and order what you want to drink. What sounds good to you at the moment? Get that.

I like manhattans in a cocktail glass.

[/ QUOTE ]

Seriously. Why would I want a bunch of ice watering down my Manhattan?

[/ QUOTE ]

Eh, the ice is worth it to me to not drink out of a martini glass (is that what you mean by "cocktail glass"?). The girliness factor aside, they are just a pain to drink out of. I suppose I could order it up, but in a tumbler, but that's getting awfully high-maintenance for a drink order.

[/ QUOTE ]

Order it up in a highball glass. There's absolutely nothing more complicated about making a manhattan in a highball glass than in a martini glass. I usually get my martinis in highball glasses as I always feel a bit ostentatious or something with martini glasses, plus I wind up knocking them over half the time.

I agree that you should drink what you like and not care what others think. However i think op is like me and i dont really know what i like. I mean i have some beers i enjoy but im a college student and the extent of my mixed drink experience is a styrafoam cup with some captain and coke in it. Right now when im out at a fancy place or with people im trying to impress i just order a bombay and tonic. I really like this drink, but i also dont really know what else to order and dont want to sound foolish. It would also just be fun to order some cool drinks from time to time hanging out with friends.

Also, whats the best way to order drinks? Saying the brand liquer u want and then the soda/juice/whatever is normal right. Like saying bombay and tonic, crown and coke, bacardi and soda.

she def. looks like she could be easily tricked by fancy drinks.

I would order her an appletini, and you a choco-tini. she'll think that's the height of coolness. then, sexy time
