Re: 6.50 fold this ak?
I think I'd raise to t400 here since you still have 4 players to act behind you before it gets back around to the limper. If villian "sucks" what do you think he would limp/shove with from UTG? At a $6.50 with a sucky opponent, it might be anything from TT+, AT+, KQ+ or heck maybe complete air if he thinks he can push you off the hand. Have you laid down to a re-raise/push in this session already? If so, I'm calling for sure because villian likely thinks he can push you off the hand. Even if not, I'm calling here and making a note. You are WB AA and KK, flipping with QQ, JJ, TT, but at this level he just as likely has AK, AQ, AJ, AT, KQ (or maybe worse).

At these tables a limp re-raise AI usually means a small pocket pair.

Re: 6.50 fold this ak?
Turns out you had a nice laydown. Good job.
One thought for you, and one of the posters above touched on it. A raise of 3x is good when opening the betting, but after a limper, 4-5x is better. aside from the reduced pot odds that you offer (which is the primary reason for the bigger raise), there is also a psychological reason. many players will attempt a re-steal from a 3x raiser, but few will do so against a 4-5x raiser. so, when you bet 450 and then get popped, that pop is a lot easier to read than when you just bet 300. the downside is that you put in more chips and get closer to being tied to the pot. so, bigger raise after limper for two reasons: 1. reduced pot odds discourage callers, thus easier to thin the field 2. bigger raise discourages re-steal attempts, thus making your future decisions easier. any thought on this? other than that, great read! |
