term: double barrel
[ QUOTE ]
This looks like a very easy double barrel situation. [/ QUOTE ] I read that quote in a thread in the micro limits section. What's a double barrel situation? I tried googling it, no avail. Is it similar to a semi-bluff? |

Re: term: double barrel
It means betting again on the turn here.
I guess you could say its like a second continuation bet. Im not completely sure tho. |

Re: term: double barrel
A double barrel is bluffing on two consecutive streets. A triple barrel would be bluffing the flop turn and river.

Re: term: double barrel
This is not something you should do very often if you're playing low though.

Re: term: double barrel
A second barrel doesn't neccisarily mean bluffing right? Just making a 2nd continuation bet.

I've never thought that the term double barrel has to refer to a bluff. BTW - You ought to have ways of identifying players who call C-bets light (i.e. float a lot). With these players you should C-bet less and fire double barrel bluff more when you do C-bet on whiffed flops. They will very often have hands they cannot call a turn bet bet with. Most players C-bet too much and don't double barrel enough. Lucky |

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, but the posters above who replied to my question wrote that a double barrel is a bluff on two consecutive streets. You however seem to distinguish between double barrel bluff and double barrel (of the non-bluff kind). So, what would a double barrel of the non-bluff kind be? Value-betting on two consecutive streets? |

Re: term: double barrel
a second barrel is your continuation bet not on the flop (first shot), but on the turn (second shot). i forget if it is only considered a second shot if you're betting without receiving any improvement from the turn card.
